Today, there is a growing debate about the use of mobile phones in class. In higher education institutions we can set some arguments for and against its use.
ReplyDeleteIn the first case, the use of mobile phones can motivate students, since they feel the lesson as an integrated part of their daily life. It also allows the students to search for information during the lesson and even to up-date the materials and data gave by the teacher.
In the second case, we should mention that students can be distracted very easily by these devices, since they can pay more attention to WhatsApp or Facebook than to the teacher’s explanations. The mobile phones can also be used to cheat and even their use in the classroom can demotivate the teachers, if they feel students are not paying attention.
